Verse 9: "And another angel, a third,
followed them, saying with a loud voice, 'If any one worships the beast and its image, and receives a mark on his forehead
or on his hand,'"
The image of the beast is the crucifix. For instance in the Eighth Century when Charlemagne conquered the Saxons, he held
the crucifix in one hand and the sword in the other, so that they would either bow down to the crucifix or he would lop off
their heads—thus making the crucifix the symbol of the beast. The "mark on the forehead and on the hand" refers
to the Muslims that pray five times a day by touching their foreheads to the ground, and they cover their mouth and nose with
their hand to keep from breathing in the dust. This leaves them with a dust mark on their foreheads and on the back of the
hand.[4]
Verse 10: "'he
also shall drink the wine of God's wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and he shall be tormented with fire
and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.'"
This means that both the Christians and the Muslims (if
they don't accept the coming of Baha'u'llah, who is promised in the "Book" (Bible) that they both claim
they believe in), they will both be destroyed in the oncoming thermonuclear war.
