Verse 3: "And another portent
appeared in heaven; behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems upon his heads."
The red dragon represents the "Hands" of the
Cause of God, who had no real existence after the passing of Shoghi Effendi. Ruhiyyih Khanum resurrected them, and had the
Baha'is to turn to them instead of Shoghi Effendi's son, the first International Baha'i Council, of whom Shoghi
Effendi designated as his successor. The red being associated with the Baha'i faith. A dragon is a winged serpent, indicating
the religious intellect, in this case the twisted intellect of these "Hands."
